Surface Pro 3 not recognizing keyboard solution

I'm making this post and because this has a happened a couple of times and I could never remember the solution, so it drove me batty. My Surface Pro 3 stopped recognizing my keyboard-- as in nada-- no mouse, no keys, nada... The only solution that worked for me came from the Digital Lifestyle. Do the following:

1. Shutdown the Surface
2. Hold down the Volume UP and Power Button at the same time for 10 seconds (I found the 10 seconds part is important)
3. Power on the Surface (or it might restart in the BIOS screen tap, if that happens, use the keyboard arrows to "Exit setup")
4. The Surface will boot up and hopefully the keyboard will work again.
